Bluenose Field Lacrosse is proud to announce the creation of an exciting new high-performance program: Coastal Fusion. This elite travel team will provide a dedicated pathway for our most ambitious U19 athletes to gain exposure, compete against top-tier competition, and pursue their goals of playing at the next level.
The Coastal program is designed to identify and develop top talent within the Bluenose Lacrosse community. The team will travel to the United States to participate in a premier recruitment tournament, allowing players to showcase their skills in front of NCAA coaches and scouts. This is an unprecedented opportunity for our athletes to gain valuable experience and exposure on a significant stage.
"Creating a direct pathway to elite competition and national championships is a crucial step in player development," said Maki Jenner, Head of Player Development for Bluenose Lacrosse. "The Coastal program will provide our dedicated athletes with the platform they need to test their skills, learn from high-pressure situations, and ultimately open doors to their future in the sport. This is the next level of lacrosse for our community."
The Coastal Fusion program is an enhancement to the regular Bluenose season, not a replacement. Participation is open to all eligible U19 players registered with Bluenose Lacrosse for the 2025 season.
Tryouts: Official tryout dates will be announced shortly after the 2025 Bluenose regular season begins.
Training: Players selected for the Coastal team will participate in additional, focused practices throughout the season, designed to build team chemistry and prepare for elite-level play.
In addition to the US travel opportunity, the Coastal program will serve as the primary development and selection platform for Nova Scotia's U19 Provincial Team. This group of athletes will form the core of the team that will compete at the Field Lacrosse National Championships in August 2026. This initiative provides a clear and structured path for players to represent their province on the national stage.
The Coastal program is an optional, high-performance addition to the regular season. Please note that all costs associated with the Coastal Selects program—including but not limited to travel, accommodations, tournament fees, and team apparel—are additional to and separate from the regular Bluenose Field Lacrosse season registration fees.
All interested and eligible U19 players are encouraged to register for the 2025 Bluenose season and monitor the official website and social media channels for tryout dates and further information, which will be released in the early fall.
This is a new chapter for high-performance lacrosse in our region. We look forward to building a program that showcases the immense talent and dedication of our Bluenose athletes.
